WIC Program Manager

Example of Duties: Provide overall direction and leadership for WIC. Plan, train, direct, and evaluate work performance of staff and contractors. Work with department supervisors, program staff, state staff, and community agencies to assess community needs, and plan and implement community health intervention strategies. Develop and manage program budget. Prepare grant proposals and reports. Represent the program, division, and department in the community through working with agencies, academic institutions, and policy makers. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Nutrition, Health or Behavioral Science, Health Care or Business Administration, Health Information/Informatics Management, or a related discipline and four (4) years of professional health or social services experience, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

OR

A Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nutrition, Health or Behavioral Science, Health Care or Business Administration, Health Information/Informatics Management, or a related discipline and two (2) years of professional health or social services experience in a supervisory capacity.

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian through the American Dietetic Association at the time of application.
  • Must have a State of Alaska Dietitian or Nutritionist license within sixty (60) days of hire.
  •  Must have a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License by time of hire.

Must have a current American Red Cross / American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification, or the equivalent, within 90 days of hire date.
