Planning for the 29th Annual Health Summit has begun. The planning committee is once again reaching across Alaska and beyond to bring you the best and brightest in Public Health.  Whether you’ve attended the Summit regularly or this will be your first year, place these dates on your calendar and join us at the 29th Annual Health Summit.

Proposals are now being accepted for the 29th annual Health Summit until June 30, 2011. Accepted proposals will be announced mid July.

Summit Tracks 

 

  • Workforce Development track highlights efforts to improve health by increasing the capacity of the health workforce
  •         Co-Chairs Masayo Nishiyama and Sarah Hargrave
  • Social Determinants of Health track will discuss not only what is known about social and economic determinants of health, but how to improve health status for individuals, communities, and regions as a whole
  •         Co-Chairs –  Gretchen Clarke, Regan Mattingly and David Driscoll
  • Public Health Science track will discuss programs and projects that demonstrate contributions to the scientific foundation for improving health through public health science
  •         Co-Chairs – Tammy Zulz and Sandra Woods
  • Environmental Change track will focus on systems and environmental change focused on achieving sustainable change across a wide range of populations and span all areas of public health: environmental health, injury prevention, infectious and chronic diseases
  •         Co-Chairs – Tom Fazzini and Doreen Leavitt
  • Innovative Public Health Programs track will highlight new and exciting efforts in the field of public health in which projects, programs or communities have improved health using an innovative approach
  •        Co-Chairs – Vanessa Hiratsuka and Kathy Stanton
